The Lotus Flower

I have always loved the lotus flower. It was years before I learned the symbolism of the lotus flower, but there was always something about them that drew me in. So, it should come as no surprise that when my friend Julie started selling prints of her paintings I purchased the Lotus, of course!

And, here is some of the meaning and symbolisim behind the flower: an ancient symbol of purity, creativity and beauty that rises upward – away from the attachments of the world, yet still a part of the world. Likewise, the lotus grows in the mud and water and yet no mud or water can cling to the exquisite blossom. The lotus opens to bring beauty and light out of the darkness.

I can’t wait to find a frame and the perfect spot to hang this in our home.

That’s a nice painting of a lotus flower. Yes, lotus flower is very symbolic for the Chinese. We usually bought them for prayer in the Temple for the Mercy of God :D
