I haven’t forgotten about my 101 in 1001 list, and this weekend I got to cross off #54 Try Geocaching.
My hubby has an iPhone (I am so jealous), and because it has GPS we were finally able to do something we had been hoping to try for a long time. Geocaching! It’s like a big hide and seek game using the GPS to locate caches that people have placed all over the world! We started pretty close to home, like less than a mile from our house.
Our first cache was hidden inside this pig. There were some goodies inside, and of course the log book which we signed. Our second cache was hidden inside a pipe at a park. The log book was smooshed down into the pipe so far that there was no way of getting it out to sign it. It was still fun trying to find it though. In fact, we found it twice, but didn’t realize we had found it the first time around.
Now that we have started, I know that we will continue to look for caches! Do any of you play the geocaching game?
Michelle Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion is a book that takes a look at the current First Lady and her fashion choices. It’s more than just a fashion book though, it talks about Michelle as a person, and also how to dress for your own body type and budget.
As a fashion book it’s great because it includes loads of full color photos and sketches to go with the text. It even includes qoutes about Michelle from world famous designers and fashion insiders. I think it would be hard to live with such a public scrutiny of your personal style and outfit choices, but it does seem like Michelle Obama is doing it quiet well (though I haven’t always liked some of her choices).
If you are interested in fashion and the First Lady, this will be a book that you are likely to enjoy. I enjoyed it, and I can see why people are calling her the “First Lady of Fashion”!
FLOR’s newest Alexander Girard collection will be available in FLOR’s summer catalog, and you have the chance to win your very own 6 tile rug! The collection is called FLORA, and was inspired by Girard’s textile pattern “Eden”. FLORA comes in 3 colors, and as you can see in the photo, it’s totally fun with a nature inspired twist! Who wouldn’t love to have this in their space?
Want a chance to win a FLORA rug of your own? Leave a comment on this post before midnight on June 5th. Just for fun, you can comment once daily if you leave me a funny joke in your comment. The winner will be chosen at random and contacted by email after the giveaway ends. Be sure to visit the FLOR website to see all the great items they have to offer, and to get your own sneak peek of the new summer products.
*this giveaway is for those in the USA only… also, this cannot be shipped to an APO address**
Thank you to all who entered and for the funny jokes! This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been chosen and emailed.
This adorable older couple spotted a piano at the Mayo clinic, luckily someone was there to catch the fun! I hope that my hubby and I are this spunky and fun in our “golden years”!
My Honda, named Rhonda, is 12 years old this month. Check out our speedometer! I loved that the numbers were lining up that way, and found it funny. Of course I had to snap a photo, but all I had was my cell phone. And yes, I realize that Miss Rhonda the Honda has very, very, low mileage for a car her age. It’s not that she hasn’t been places, she’s gone to Vegas and all… it’s just that I am very lucky to live near almost everything I could ever need.
Here’s to another 12 years of great running! I am so happy to have such a high quality car.
Living happily ever after with my handsome hubby, our adorable pets, and our ever growing flock of pink flamingos. Trying to squeeze every juicy bit of nectar from this beautiful life.
