Meow, meow!
My parents had a furry surprise in their yard recently. A mama cat and her kitten took up residence in the hot tub (the inside part that has access from the side). Luckily the hot tub wasn’t full or running, but Miss Kitty sure was smart to have her kitten in a sheltered spot.
They are both very cute, gray with the most green eyes. The kitten is especially cute of course, as kittens always are. The only problem is we have no idea who they belong to. The mama cat certianly doesn’t look like a stray, her coat is very healthy and she looks well fed. We have a suspiscion of who’s pet she may be, but nothing confirmed.
Of course my hubby wants me to bring the kitten home with me. He loves cats and has always wanted to get one. I like cats, but am so allergic to them it’s not even funny. I had the most adorable kitten for a few hours when I was younger… she was super smart and playful. It was a lot of fun to play with her for that short time until my eyes swelled shut and big water bags formed under them. So obviously we can’t bring it home, no matter how adorable this kitten is.
We didn’t see the mama cat today though, so we are a bit worried that something may have happened to her. Or maybe she is trying to get her kitten to fend for herself. The kitten on the other hand seems more than happy to stay under the hot tub, and was quiet scared of us looking in at her.
Baby has been kept away from that section of the yard… better for her and them that way.
