“Patio”
Finally, the photos of the “patio”! It’s so nice to have concrete in that area instead of the gravel and weed pit it used to be. Right now it is much more like a patio area, but the nice part of the concrete is that it can also be a great base for a shed if we wanted. I would love to get some outdoor wicker to go around our firepit and really use the space as a patio, but we’ll see what happens. Here are some photos:
This is a cleaned up version of the area before the concrete. I had taken out some of the Spanish cane, and all the weeds. Next up, what Spanish cane looks like (the roots are very heavy).
Here is the area right before the concrete, even without concrete, it looks so much nicer and bigger without weeds.
And finally, after the concrete was dry we put our table, the awesome umbrella that my mother in law gave us, and you may remember the chairs from my project (featured on Apartment Therapy). Also, in the back corner is our EarthBox garden, and of course, the firepit! There will be a lot of tinkering with the space in the coming weeks I am sure, but it is so nice to have it all done!
