The Kitchen Cure, Fall 2009!
I am joining the fall 2009 kitchen cure from Apartment Therapy. It’s for the next four weeks, and promises to whip my kitchen into shape. Something that my kitchen truly needs too! Even though I am a fairly organized person, there is always room to improve, especially in our kitchen where cabinet space is hard to come by. We even have to store our baking stone in the oven, that is how short on space we are! I am hoping for some great ideas on how to better arrange the pantry and cabinets to make the most use of the space.
Oh, and I also have a small appliance addiction. Seriously! I love gadgets and seem to find myself getting them often (add the pizzelle maker to the list). We have a slushie maker, a griller, a dehydrator, food processor, blenders, mixers, fondue pot, hot chocolate maker, an ice cream maker (which I am planning to use very soon for sorbet), and even a doughnut maker! Yes, it’s an addiction!
We do actually use most of them, but storing all these things in limited space is a challenge. Not to mention we also have to store food, and things to cook with (go figure)! I hope that the kitchen cure will be helpful and fun, and that you enjoy coming along for the ride with me over the next couple of weeks. I have been working on the first assignment and hope to post the photos before Friday. So, now here is an embarrassing before photo of our pantry, which has been neglected for some time now.

Stay tuned for the exciting after! The week one assignment is to clear out old food, and generally get things organized in the fridge and pantry. Luckily our fridge is going to be a breeze… but as you can see, the pantry should take a bit more time. I would really like to find a different place to keep some of the appliances that are in the pantry right now too.

I’d be happy to store that donut maker for you…
