Truths about being a grown up.
Remember being little and thinking that it was going to be so cool to be “grown up”! I remember thinking certain things about being an adult, and foolishly wasting my youth on wishing to be older.
- I’ll get to do whatever I want. Not only do you not get to do whatever you want, you have to do loads of things that you don’t want to do. Laundry, cooking, cleaning, work. Most likely you got to do more of what you wanted when you were young.
- I’ll have more money. Partly true. Sadly, grown ups also have more expenses.
- No more school! Sure you won’t be forced to go to school anymore. However, when you grow up you also realize that you need to keep learning. It’s not a bad thing of course. Learning is cool.
- I’ll stay out as late as I want! No one will stop you, and you could stay out all night. It’s just that suddenly going to bed around 11:00pm sounds more appealing than going to the club at 11:00pm.
- It’ll be so cool! There are parts of being grown up that are cool of course. It’s just that most of us wish to be kids again.
What things were you looking forward to about being grown up? Did they come true?

I looked forward to being my own boss. I’m my own boss when the girls (cats) let me be. An early Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I agree.. I’m not a club person and going to it at 11pm is a super no no.
God bless and happy living
