Winter Wonderland

We had a lot of fun this weekend as we played tourist in a nearby city. We were lucky to get a gift certificate for a free night at Little America, so we took advantage of it! When we arrived we were greeted by tons of gorgeous holiday decorations, including this big gingerbread house.

Then we went up to our room on the 9th floor to check out our view. Sadly we didn’t get a room with a balcony this time around, so I only had about two inches of open window to stick my camera out of! Here is a blurry view of the Grand America hotel across the street.

And our room over looked the pool area as well. There were people swimming, even in the snow!

We then ventured out in the cold. And when I say cold, I really mean cold. It was about 14 degrees out! We visited The Gateway to check out the Apple Store, and Z Gallery (shops we don’t have). We watched the Olympic Fountain and the big tree which they have animated with lights. The fountain plays and dances to the Olympic theme song every so often. This photo didn’t capture it very well, but you can kind of see some fountains.

And lastly we visited Temple Square. We sped threw it super fast though because by this time we were really feeling the cold!

We also splurged since we weren’t paying for the room… late night room service and breakfast to the room in the morning! All in all a very fun weekend together!

    Playing tourist in nearby cities can be a lot of fun! Jeff and I have done it, too. Glad you had a little getaway, but hopefully the next one will be on a warm sandy beach. (o;
