I recently got a review copy of a great book called The Basic Book of Digital Photography: How to Shoot, Enhance, and Share Your Digital Pictures
! As you know, we love photography around this house, and we especially enjoy the ease of using digital cameras. Even though we are pretty familiar with photography (being artists), and the digital side of things, this book still was an amazing reference and taught some things. It’s a great book to have in your library, one that I am sure that I will reference often.
There is so much that it covers, from how to shoot a pleasing photo, to sharing your photos, and enhancing them. Here is an article from the authors to give you an idea of what information you can find in the book. If you enjoy digital photography or want to get into it more but don’t know where to start, The Basic Book of Digital Photography
is a good book to have!

We are knee deep in kitchen renovation, and that means that our kitchen is now in our living room. My hooping space is filled to the brim with appliances, cabinet drawers, and all manner of craziness.
The weather outside doesn’t help either, and sadly it has been a week since I have been able to hoop. I miss it! I miss it a lot.
I was hoping that based on the gorgeous sunshine of yesterday, that the weather might have been warming enough to go outside again. This morning I woke to snow falling on the ground.
Not only can I not wait for our new kitchen counter tops, but I am so looking forward to hooping again.
My favorite British comedies, in no particular order:
- Mr. Bean.
- Keeping Up Appearances.
- As Time Goes By.
- Good Neighbors.

We have been trying to get our kitchen ready for the installation of our new Wilsonart HD counter top. First things first, the old tile counter had to be removed.

We didn’t want to break up all the tiles and create a huge mess, so my husband used a jack to raise the large part of our counter up and off of the cabinets. Once it came up, my hunky hubby pushed it up, and the both of us (mainly him) got it off the cabinet and onto the floor.

Now the big question is what to do with it! My husband says he has a plan, but I hope that it doesn’t involve my wimpy muscles, because although I have lifted a lot of heavy things with my husband, this counter conquered me!

At least there is progress! All the tops are off, and now we have to remove the back splash. The bad news is that the tile is adhered to the wall, which means that we will need to replace the sheet rock. The other bad news is that my husband isn’t feeling well, making it tough to work on the project at all. We are waiting to hear if we can move the date of our install to give us a few more days since we weren’t expecting for him to be ill, but if not, we will be doing some major last minuet work tomorrow night to prepare for the install.
