Seventh Generation (and a giveaway)!

By , March 31, 2010

I recently got the chance to try out some Seventh Generation cleaning products, and one lucky reader will also have a chance to try them (keep reading to find out how). I had always been curious to try their products because I care about chemicals, and especially I wanted to find something that worked well but didn’t have harsh smells. Luckily, Seventh Generation, has been promoting “responsible cleaning” for the past twenty years! And I got a chance to try out their new line of disinfecting products, along with some other fun goodies.

Seventh Generation has tapped into the disinfecting power of the herb thyme, which kills germs naturally! The disinfectants contain thymol, a component of the herb thyme, which can be used on counter tops and a variety of other hard surfaces. Best of all, they kill over 99.99 percent of germs naturally and are effective against the Influenza A Virus, including H1N1. And, they don’t have that awful chemical smell, which made my nose very happy.

The paper towels are great too! We used them to clean up in our kitchen after finishing our new tile back splash, and not only did they hold up to the abuse, but we felt great knowing that they were 100% recycled, unbleached paper towels. I plan on getting more to have on hand for easy clean ups.

You have the chance to win the same cleaning kit that Seventh Generation sent to me for this review.  It contains an awesome book called The Conscious Kitchen, in addition to cleaning products and a handy carrier to make cleaning a breeze. Would you like a chance to win?

  • Leave a comment on this post letting me know why you would like to try Seventh Generation products.
  • The giveaway will end at midnight on Wed, April 7th, 2010.
  • You may comment daily until the giveaway ends.
  • This giveaway is open to those in the USA only.
  • The winner will be chosen at random and contacted by email. They will then have 3 days to respond, otherwise we will choose a new winner.

*Thanks to Seventh Generation and MyBlogSpark for providing the products for review and giveaway.*

Congrats to lucky #1, Jenn!

Lately…

What have we been up to lately? Tiling the kitchen back splash (and yes, those are indeed white subway tiles)!!

Also, I went to a fudge frosting tasting! They were both so good, it was hard to pick just one. The cake was extra yummy as well. And free. Can’t beat a deal like that! The frosting tasting was held at a desert cafe called The Chocolate. While I was there I bought two very tasty sugar cookies for us to enjoy later that night. Is it weird to go to a place called The Chocolate and buy something vanilla? I love vanilla.

I planted the first crops of 2010. Broccoli, cauliflower, and even Brussels sprouts, are all in the garden. I have my fingers crossed that we will indeed get to eat them this year since we started on time.

Panda cars at Panda Express. There were 5 of them when I went to get us lunch. Panda cars!!

The cake I baked for my mom’s birthday had a fun, flamingo colored, surprise inside. Yes indeed, a pink swirl cake! It tasted great too.

I have been spending too much time playing with a fun iPhone app called Stachetastic. Baby looks pretty good as Captain Jack Sparrow, no?

Project Hoop, you spin me right round!

By , March 28, 2010

Music is such a big part of my hooping. I feel so many things change depending on what kind of music I listen to while I hoop. Sometimes it’s perfect to put on something mellow, and try to hoop slowly, really listening to the sounds and my muscles. Other times it’s super fun to put on something with hundreds of beats per minuet and try to keep up!

Lately I have been playing in my hoop to the music of the 1980′s. I grew up in the 80′s. The music brings back fun memories, and while it can be a bit slower at times (funny how things change), it’s been a riot!

The trick I have been learning, pulse, is getting better. I can get the hoop up to my armpits more easily, and it even stays there for more than one revolution. I have been adding in other tricks too, and now that the weather is warmer I can’t wait to get outside again to have space for new off body moves.
