List making (and a giveaway)
My mom’s birthday is fast approaching, and with it arrives the end of my first 101 in 1001 list! I am working on a new list that will start on March 21st (her birthday), and have included some of the items that didn’t get crossed off the first time as well as new items. It’s been a fun experiment, and I have certainly learned that while 1001 days sounds like a long time, it’s really not. It goes quickly!
A confession; I love making lists. Making this new 101 has been a bit harder than the first one though. I don’t have many items yet (under 50). The items I do have are things I am excited about, but I need more and am running out of time. So just for fun I thought I would employ your help! I have a copy of the book Listography Journal: Your Life in Lists to give away to one lucky reader! All you have to do is help me with my list.

If you would like a chance to win this fun book, simply suggest an item for my 101 in 1001 list! It’s that easy. You can comment with as many ideas as you want until midnight on March 20th. Just be sure to use a separate comment for each idea. I will choose a comment at random, and may include some of your suggestions in my new 101 list! The giveaway is open to all countries. Be sure your email is correct in the comment form so I can contact you if you are the winner!
Sound like fun? Ready, set, comment!
*this giveaway is now closed. Congrats to #3, Juliette. I loved all your comments a bunch by the way!*

Write in your journal everyday–even if on most days it’s just one paragraph or line. This is something I’m thinking about doing.
PS I’d LOVE that book! I love making lists, too!
Learn to love one part of your body you’ve never really liked. (For example, I used to think my nose was too big and I felt so self-counscious about it until I saw a gorgeous supermodel with a big nose. Her dad told her it meant she had personality.)
If you want to learn a foreign language, commit to learning one new word a week. By the end of the end of the 1001 days, you will know 143 new words. This could also apply to English if you want to broaden your vocab.
Try new foreign cusine. My brother and I had this tradition where we’d try new foods together. Middle Eastern, Greek, Ethiopian, Samoan, Vietimese, Korean, Brazillian, etc.
Take a college/community photography class. I took a few and LOVED them.
Support local farmers. Go to the farmer’s market at least once a month (when local fruits and veggies are in season).
Try going raw for a week. That’s something I really want to do sometime!
Go out of your way to watch the sun set every night for a week. Maybe even photograph it and blog about it.
Take a fashion risk. Buy something you wouldn’t normally have the guts to wear and flaunt it!
I really love this one (and all of your ideas)!

Say hello to someone you don’t know everyday.

I like this!! How fun and nonsensical!
Or try the low-tech version of geocaching, letterboxing!
Ask an older family member to share some old stories, or skills!

I make lots of lists, but usually they just stay in my brain. I need to write things down.
