Seventh Generation (and a giveaway)!
I recently got the chance to try out some Seventh Generation cleaning products, and one lucky reader will also have a chance to try them (keep reading to find out how). I had always been curious to try their products because I care about chemicals, and especially I wanted to find something that worked well but didn’t have harsh smells. Luckily, Seventh Generation, has been promoting “responsible cleaning” for the past twenty years! And I got a chance to try out their new line of disinfecting products, along with some other fun goodies.
Seventh Generation has tapped into the disinfecting power of the herb thyme, which kills germs naturally! The disinfectants contain thymol, a component of the herb thyme, which can be used on counter tops and a variety of other hard surfaces. Best of all, they kill over 99.99 percent of germs naturally and are effective against the Influenza A Virus, including H1N1. And, they don’t have that awful chemical smell, which made my nose very happy.
The paper towels are great too! We used them to clean up in our kitchen after finishing our new tile back splash, and not only did they hold up to the abuse, but we felt great knowing that they were 100% recycled, unbleached paper towels. I plan on getting more to have on hand for easy clean ups.

That’s awesome! I’ve seen and considered trying them too. I’ve hesitated, because a) they tend to be a lot more expensive, and my budget is super tight lately, and b) I always worry about “natural” cleaners not being as effective. I know, lazy ol’ me, but I can’t bring myself to use a cleaner that’s going to require me to apply “elbow grease” when there’s one available that’ll just cut through stuff on its own, LOL. But if these really are as good as other stuff, it’d be well-worth not having the harsh chemicals in the house, which are scary for so many reasons… environmentally, around my young children, etc, etc!
No need to add me to the contest, I just wanted to say that I adore Seventh Generation. I’ve been using their products for years. We use their dishwashing and dishwasher soap as well as laundry detergent.

I have been wanting to try these products for a long time. They sound great. I use baking soda and vinegar, steam mop, and lemon juice to clean most things because I dont want toxic stuff around my kids, etc. I would love to try something different though, and I am willing to pay more for quality, and love that these are environmentally friendly!

We have been trying to use natural cleaners like vinegar and baking soda, but I think seventh generation would make it a lot easier.

I’ll be blunt – because I’ve tried other eco-friendly products that cost a lot more and don’t work well. Before I waste more money on insufficient products, I’d like to test them first. I’ve heard wonderful things about 7th generation and I’d like to try them so I can decide whether or not to purchase them in the future.

I’ve been switching more and more of my cleaning products to greener alternatives, along with making green choices in my lifestyle. I’ve switched over to Seventh Generation dishwashing liquid and want to try more of their products.
I want to win because I am someone who has always beleived in getting back to the natural ways of doing things..I am happy that so many people ARE on the wagon too! I am not always able to pick up this stuff, so I clean with vinegar (which works as great as bleach), but Honey Bear doesnt like the smell..we love the benefits, just not the smell-so, I would LOVE to try this stuff!
I would like to try these products. It’s one more step in Protecting ourselves from the chemicals that are adversely affecting ourselves and our environment.

I hate dealing with the fumes of traditional cleaners, especially in my tiny bathroom.
Never heard of them. I would love to try them out since they are trying to make the world a safer and cleaner place.
I got a sample of a laundry detergent. when I use it, the fumes filled my entire home, irritating my eyes and lungs. Who needs that. i’d like to try a different alternative.

Trying something new is a good thing–you never know when you’ll find a reaql treasure. It’s especially true when the “something new” is as ecologically friendly as Seventh Generation.

My husband has a lot of allergies; he has a particular problem with perfumes and fragranced products. In addition, we share our home with nine inquisitive cats. I think they would all be better off if we were able to use more natural products.
