35 Wishes

By , June 21, 2010

I turn 35 this Thursday! I can hardly believe it! I certainly don’t feel like I should be in my thirties, let alone 35! In my mind I feel much younger, but I hear that is how it is for everyone. :)

Just for fun, here is my birthday wish list. I know some are a bit “out there” budget wise, but it never hurts to put it out there! :)

  1. A mix CD with your favorite songs and/or songs that remind you of times we spent together.
  2. This Hello Kitty watch from Swatch.
  3. A dinner that I don’t have to cook, or pick up.
  4. New walking shoes, and a gym membership too.
  5. An overnight someplace fun with my hubby.
  6. The Electra Swing Tandem 3i bike.
  7. New rollerblade wheels.
  8. The Hello Kitty Fender guitar.
  9. A garden dome green house.
  10. A B-52′s tee. The first concert I ever went to!

This photo has nothing to do with turning 35, but I found it funny. It was on a mini-golf course that we tried to play on last week. I say try, because although this photo looks nice, a few seconds after I took it, the rain started and it got very windy.

Funny garden sign.

First roses of 2010

The first roses of 2010 (photo taken June 6). Notice that there is still snow on the mountains in the background? Yep, June in the Rockies is quite the mix of weather.

Inspiration Tuesday

Here is something completely fun for Inspiration Tuesday! Home as Art group member, Karen Sloan, took the idea of home expressions as art to heart, and turned a space in her home into an actual work of art. I just love her “Kitsch-In”! It looks like a happy place to spend time cooking, don’t you think?

You too can join our Home as Art Flickr group, we would love to see the way you make your house a home.

Garden Lesson

Did you know that if you don’t pick your broccoli at the right time, it flowers? I didn’t.

It’s pretty though! We grew broccoli for our first time ever this spring. In fact, we had a nice bit of it ready to eat. However, because we weren’t sure when it was supposed to be picked, we thought we would let it grow some more. Well, imagine my surprise when I went out to check on it and, planning to pick it, but instead found flowers!!
