Little pumpkin.

By , October 11, 2010

You might have noticed, we were once again down for the count. Really not sure why we are having so many server issues, but my fingers are crossed that we can get everything back to 100% normal soon. In the meantime, I have to share this adorable pumpkin from our garden.

Little pumpkin

And what is even cuter than that? I just discovered another tiny pumpkin growing on the vine, even smaller than this one. I can’t wait to pick it and put them side by side. Besides all the fun pumpkins growing in our patch, I also enjoyed a pumpkin pie milkshake the other day. It was yummy! There is still some of it waiting for me in my freezer too.

What is your favorite pumpkin recipe? These iced pumpkin cookies are my very favorite and I try to make them every fall.

The Ultimate Vacation!

Cheerios® is giving you the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, your ultimate family vacation. As part of a paid promotion for their “Do What You Love” Sweepstakes, Cheerios® is sponsoring my post today about what my ultimate family vacation would be. Read mine, Enter the Sweepstakes for a chance to actually win your own fantasy family trip or one of a bunch of other great prizes.

So, what would your ultimate vacation look like? My husband and I rarely take vacations. We just took our very first this past summer when we went to Las Vegas for my birthday (we’ve been married almost 9 years). In many ways, any vacation would be an ultimate vacation for us! Of course, there are places that I have always dreamed of going and things that I have always wanted to do.

Topping the places to see list is Hawaii. My parents used to live there, it’s where they met, but they moved back to the mainland before I was even born. And can you believe it, we never went there as a family!?! I would love to go there, hike around the volcano, swim with dolphins, try boogie boarding, and of course, spend lots of time lounging on the beach. It would be a lot of fun to attend a luau, and visit the smaller islands. There is so much to do and see there it’s really hard to narrow it down. I have often said that when we go, we will need to be there for 2 weeks just so we can make sure that we do all the things we want to do. I imagine that 2 weeks wouldn’t even be enough though, but it sure would be fun.

It would also be amazing to stay in a super nice hotel. The kind where you have more of a little house/apartment, complete with your own private swimming pool. That’s right, when I dream of my ultimate vacation, I go all out!

So tell me, what would be your ultimate? But don’t just tell me about it! Don’t forget to enter the “Do What You Love” Sweepstakes, for a chance to win your own ultimate family vacation. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

Milano Moments Support Komen

By , October 9, 2010

In honor of National Dessert Day (that’s right, a holiday for dessert), I wanted to share this information about Milano cookies. As you know breast cancer is a cause that is near and dear to my family.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and Milano cookies have joined the cause and will donate to Komen when someone posts a personal Milano Moment on Milano’s Facebook Page in October. Each Milano Moment means a donation of $.50, up to $50,000.

They are also supporting the cause with their pink packaging during the month. I think that I am going to have to get some of the Strawberry Milanos that I discovered awhile back, they are so yummy, and plus, they are actually pink on the inside too! :)
