Holiday Decorating

With Christmas right around the corner, and having just finished the fun that is Halloween, the holiday season is here! I was thinking about how I want more Thanksgiving decorations, because right now I really just have a set of cute fall pumpkins, and a fun little set of turkeys. And that’s all. Thanksgiving really doesn’t get a fair deal when it comes to holiday decor. In fact, if you go to a store, you might even think that Christmas is this month instead of next.

But since everyone is forcing me to think about Christmas, here is a room that I just love. It’s from the Pottery Barn catalog.

There are so many things that I love about this room. First, the log cabin quilt is super cozy and fun. The beams on the ceiling, the hardwood floors, and the color on the walls. I love it all. However, what really caught my attention and got me thinking is how this room, the BEDROOM, is included in the holiday decorating fun! Look at the glass ornaments hanging from the greenery on the bed frame!

Do you decorate your bedroom for holidays? Honestly I haven’t done so since moving out of my parents’ home (I used to set up a small tree in my bedroom). Of course since getting married, I have decorated all the main living spaces, but never really thought to add something to our bedroom! But why not? It’s a space we spend a lot of time in too!

What do you think about the idea of spreading the holiday cheer into other rooms of your home?

  1. I change our bedroom from winter to spring, but not for the holidays!! If I had a guest room, maybe?? :D right now, our guest room doubles as Jason’s music room – so you have to sleep with a full drum kit, keyboards, and all kinds of guitars… :D

    • You have a music room/guest room?! How fun is that! I always change our bedding for the seasons, but there is something fun about actually using decorations too! I want to do it this year. :)

  2. The ornaments caught my eye as well. I would love if my house looked like a Pottery Barn catalog. I just have too much stuff and children to have it. Oh and no money. Need money.
