Raving Rabbids Travel in Time

Ready for a Wii game that is just plain silly? And game that is also a lot of fun? Well, we recently got the chance to play Raving Rabbids Travel in Time thanks to UbiSoft!

Having never played Raving Rabbids, we didn’t know what to expect. The game starts out with a movie that explains a bit of what is going on. Turns out, the Rabbids have a magical Time Washing Machine! Who wouldn’t want to travel around different time periods in a washing machine!? Once it landed inside of a museum, the real fun started. Little prompts on the screen telling us what NOT to do, actually were helpful hints of what we should be doing. First things first, off to the bathroom to create our Rabbid profile name.

Then it’s off to play the game. We were happy to find that the game is actually full of fun mini-games, including even more micro-games inside the mini-games. We bounced, we flew, we “sang”, we even got up out of our seats and danced. All the while running around in crazy costumes that we unlocked for our Rabbids. We played in two player mode, which meant that while in the museum and in some of the games, we were actually tethered together by a roll of toilet paper. Oh, and did I mention that when you play shooting games, you actually shoot out toilet bowl brushes?!

Pure silly fun! You can play with up to 4 people, and for some games if you don’t have 4 players the game will provide a computer player to fill the empty spots. We did wish that they had explained the controls a bit better in the mini-games because some did take figuring out. We had a lot of fun playing the game, and think it would be even more fun with more players.

Raving Rabbids Travel in Time can be purchased at Amazon.com, and other stores that sell video games.

Cha-cha-cha-chia!

Confession time. I have always loved Chia Pets. This post isn’t about them though, it’s about chia seeds!

Did you know that you can eat chia seeds? I didn’t know, until I started reading some awesome health blogs and saw them being used a lot. It got my interest up, and I was super curious to find out what they tasted like. I didn’t want to buy a chia pet and eat the seeds though, but luckily I found a deal on chia seeds via Spabettie’s Open Sky shop.

Then I started reading Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen, and guess what they were talking about? Chia seeds!! On a side note, this book is extremely interesting in so many ways. I really haven’t put it down since it arrived. I wish that it included recipes though!

Turns out these little things are a super food. They have protein, and can be absorbed by the body as seeds, unlike other whole grains. They are also a good source of Omega-3! Who knew such little seeds could pack such a punch?!

It made me excited when I read they were easy to grow too (of course, we are in the middle of winter, but when spring comes you can bet I am going to plant some). At any rate, our chia seeds arrived and that meant I needed to figure out what to do with them. Of course, I went to the blogs to look for recipes.

Most people add chia seeds to their oatmeal. Many put them in smoothies. And even sometimes chia seeds are layered in parfaits. I didn’t find much as far as recipes on the bigger recipe sites, so I am going to ask you all to please tell me your favorite use for chia seeds! What is your favorite way to use them?

Outdoor Christmas Lights

Come on now, what else did you expect us to do?

The weather this year has been so strange. From being very nice and warm, to freezing and snowing, all within a small amount of time. This means that we didn’t get our usual Christmas train set up in time, nor have I had a chance to get my cute little lighted trees out in the pots on our porch. However, the crazy weather patterns didn’t stop us from getting our animated pink flamingo out! Currently it is on the porch in one of the pots. We may move it if we get a chance to put up the trees.

For now though, we think Santa Flamingo is a cute welcoming committee.

If you want to see someone who goes all out with their Christmas light display, check out my friend’s house! What about your home? Do you decorate the outside?

‘Tis the baking season!

Christmas cupcakes

My mom made some very fun cupcakes for us today. They are called surprise cupcakes, because when you take off the wrapper they have white, green, and red cake inside. But the surprise doesn’t stop there! They are also peppermint flavored!

We then decorated them to look like Christmas wreaths. Super fun and easy to do with the star frosting tip. Simple, tasty, and they look so festive! Thanks mom!
