I had a little time to kill between events at Alt. Since I was staying at home and driving up and back, I decided to make the most of the time in SLC and go to The Gateway. After a quick visit to the planetarium, I visited Anthropology and fell in love with these cute giraffe stacked pots. I really wanted to buy them, but refrained due to the cost. Then I went to a new store that sold all kinds of hot spicy goodness. Oh, and bacon ketchup.
While I didn’t buy any of that, I did pick up some habanero salsa and habanero popcorn. We always grow our own habaneros to make our special, super hot salsa, but obviously with all the snow and cold, we don’t have any right now. Habaneros are Heath’s favorite. They are a little spicy for me, but I do love the salsa in re-fried beans. For Christmas my hubby got a ghost pepper kit in his stocking. We are waiting for it to warm up a bit before we plant it, but I am really excited to see what it’s like. Can he handle the heat?!
What about you? Do you like the heat? What’s your favorite hot/spicy dish?

What?? Bacon ketchup?? So cool:D
It sounds so strange, bacon ketchup! But I have to wonder what it would taste like. It makes me wish I had bought some just to try it, but it was expensive.
What….bacon ketchup? So cool!
Sorry for double comments
Matt likes hot stuff too. He’s always having to tame down his cooking for a couple of our children. Poor guy.
The hot has grown on me. I now spice up my food, but not nearly as much as he does. And I think Korean is the best. Matt is a food tinkerer and just randomly adds peppers to things. And usually I like it!
I remember that you grow your own stuff for salsa too! Funny that both of our guys love the hot stuff. I’m not usually adding as much spice as my hubby either. He adds cayenne pepper to just about everything these days, and of course he loves really hot peppers.
Wow! Just when you think you’ve seen everything!
A new Vietnamese restaurant just opened by my office and I’ve been sucking down soup with sriracha chili sauce like there’s no tomorrow!
Looks like you had a great time at Alt. Yay!
We really love sriacha sauce. I buy it at the store so we can have it at home for things. Perfect for rice.
Glad to see you are back to blogging.
