Don’t keep calm.

Don't keep calm and carry on.

I have always loved this take on the “keep calm” posters. It recently came back into my view thanks to Sara’s post, and it got me thinking of all the great things that people were making. Here is a fun little round up!

  • Iris is making pies. More specifically, she is also trying to make an awesome business out of it. Anyone in California with knowledge that could help her, please let her know!
  • Kristina is always making something that looks amazing and tasty to eat. Eggs on salad greens caught my eye this week!
  • Kit is not only making a whole entire house! She is also putting together a book of Home Secrets with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity! Check it out, and add your house secret too.
  • Have you seen the video, Marcel the Shell With Shoes On? Well, Marie of Make and Takes made a Marcel. We met at “Dinner With” during Alt, and I have been enjoying her makings on her blog ever since. This one is the cutest I’ve seen.
  • Allison shows us how to make a luxurious facial scrub. Who doesn’t need that once in awhile?
  • I am still in the process of making our master bedroom closet more beautiful.

It’s the weekend! What are you making?

Assembling.

By , March 24, 2011

Don’t you just LOVE when you have to assemble furniture? LOL! While it’s not the most fun thing to do, it certainly isn’t the worst thing either, and it can save you a lot of money. My mom recently bought two shelves for their den/office space. We spent the afternoon assembling one of them (it took us 2 hours to get it all together). Baby was not amused.

At first she seemed pretty excited to explore all the “stuff” that we had laid out. She was also kind of happy that we were BOTH on the floor, which of course meant we must be ready to play with her. Of course, it didn’t last and she got a little miffed that we were not paying full attention to her, and were instead paying attention to this shelf thing instead. She survived though, and got lots of play and snuggle time after we got the shelf in place.

We still have one to put together. I do like how the companies have made it a lot easier to put things together now though. Still, there were a lot of screws to be put in, which always takes a bit of time, especially when they tell you in the instructions NOT to use a drill. It was fun assembling it with my mom though, she’s always easy to work with. Now, if we could just teach Baby to use a screw driver, we would really be set!
