Baby is still sick. She has been having pain induced seizures, and most of the time just wants to be held. She will cry and cry when she isn’t being held. Heartbreaking. From what we have learned, pancreatitis can be extremely painful in both humans and dogs. It’s just so sad. The upside? She is taking her medication, and a pain pill which helps. She just needs to be better soon.

The weather has been a bit nicer, and I was able to get a small barefoot run in around my backyard. I know that doesn’t sound like much, and honestly it wasn’t enough. I wasn’t at all sore the next morning, so I think that I can start out running much further than what I thought. It was fun. Running barefoot satisfies the inner child I think.

Not much else has been going on. Our crocus are blooming, and the iris are starting to grow. Signs of spring are everywhere and it’s so welcome. Winter is pretty, but it’s not my favorite. I can’t wait to get out into the garden again.

Obviously our hearts are with Japan right now. It was great to hear that friends in Japan were all safe and sound. It was awesome to hear that family in Hawaii were also safe after evacuating to higher ground. Thank goodness for Facebook status updates!

We have a proper bed frame now! I think I am in love with West Elm. OK, so I have always had a bit of a crush, but this was the first time I took the plunge and actually purchased anything. The bed frame arrived on time (a day earlier than promised actually), had simple to read instructions, and was high quality. We are very happy with it. I am very happy our bed is no longer being held up by books! :)

We also made donuts this weekend. We used our donut pan. It was awesome. They are baked, so much healthier than the fried variety. I look forward to playing with new ideas and recipes for donuts in the future. They are just so cute (photos to come).

Sweet, sick, pup.

Just as Baby has finally been able to run around and play, she gets very sick. She has been so happy since her 8 week post-op on her patella. Flinging toys around, and running crop circles around the couch. On Tuesday she threw up once, but was racing around and happy like normal afterwords. Wednesday she was sick twice, and was completely lethargic and not at all herself.

The visit to the vet found that she has pancreatitis. She’s a very sick little dog. The vet gave her some medication and fluids. We tried to give her the second dose of medication, most of which ended up on my lap. She didn’t want to eat yet, but gratefully she is perkier (though all she wants is to be held and snuggled), and she is drinking water and keeping it down.

Of course the little stinker is horrid about taking pills! Even hidden deep within her favorite treat, she still finds a way to flick the pill out onto the floor. Even in peanut butter! I’m hoping that we can get the medication in her enough for it to help her feel better.

Poor little sweet heart… in her 7 years she sure has been through a lot! Happy healing vibes are very welcome.
