Friends, food, fun.

It seems that our site issues are resolved (fingers crossed), though you will still notice some changes here, such as the super simple theme, and comments closing after a week. Otherwise all should be normal!

This past weekend was a full of friends, food, and fun. There was even a free concert thrown in the mix (Sugar Ray), and a fireworks show that lasted over 20 mins! Pretty amazing considering it was all outside and it had been snowing all weekend off and on. Luckily the weather cleared off perfectly by the time Sugar Ray took the stage. It was clear, and actually a little bit warm.

Not the greatest video, as I was moving to try to get the camera in a good angle, but you can see Mark McGrath. By the way, are you watching Celebrity Apprentice? Another funny thing is that by the end of the concert we had moved back behind the stage area because we were looking around for a funny red Pontiac limo we had seen early. The fireworks started and we took our cameras out to get a shot of the fireworks when who comes walking past? Yep, Mark McGrath! Heath caught him in a few fireworks photos by accident. I yelled out a big “thanks for coming” but he didn’t hear me. So I tweeted to him that night that he rocked on the cowbell, and that he walked right past us but didn’t hear my thank you. He tweeted back:

Not sure why he has Steel Pulse as his avatar, but they are a great band!

The great thing about friends coming into town is that it gives a great excuse to try a new place to eat. Of course, even better than that is being able to reconnect and catch up with friends. Heath and I also decided to try a new place over the weekend, Happy Sumo. Their specialty is sushi, but since my hubby can’t eat fish, we both tried different kinds of chicken dishes. The food was good, but pricey. The mochi balls were great though (but again, pricey).

The weather has been off and on, but I was able to get out a few days and walk outside again. I have this amazing app that tracks your speed and miles, which makes it so much fun too. Turns out I walk a lot faster than I thought! On the “dreadmill” I usually walk around 2.7, but out in “Nature’s Gym” I usually go 3.7 or more. Of course, we have our treadmill on an incline the entire time, but still, it’s funny to see the difference. I can’t wait for the weather to be consistently nice so I can play outside everyday!

What’s new in your world?

  1. How fun that you got to go to a free concert and spot a celebrity/rock star!

I really like The Happy Sumo. I haven’t eaten there in a long time, however, because Jeff’s not a big fan. I like their atmosphere.

    • The Happy Sumo is really yummy, isn’t it? Have you eaten at Shoots? We want to try that next. It sounds really good too.
