It’s already hot in our neck of the woods. We bypassed spring all together and went directly to summer. I feel totally and completely lazy. The only thing that sounds appealing is lazing about next to a swimming pool (or lake), sipping nice cold drinks, and doing absolutely nothing.
Instead I have been mowing our jungle of a lawn, trying desperately to remove all the grass that took over our flowerbeds during the extra long and wet spring, and of course, planting the few annuals I bought this year (some purple petunias). Allergies are in full swing and truly I should be locked away in my house for a few weeks, but with the weather being so lovely how could I possibly not go outside?

Bring on the stretchy pants! Birthday weekend was tons of fun, but not so great for my waistline. I mean, just take a look at those cupcakes! The flavors: strawberry vanilla, coconut, and red velvet. So very tasty, and they came from a cute local cupcake shop called Cupcake Chic.
On my birthday we crossed off one of my 101 items which was to visit our local aquarium! It was so much fun, and though the aquarium is still small it didn’t disappoint. We had a great time petting sting rays, watching sharks, eels, and caimans. The penguins were the absolute highlight though (but the big sea turtle came in a close second)! After the fun at the aquarium we finally went to The Cheesecake Factory!
Have you been there? It’s not at all like it looks in The Big Bang Theory! Wow there were a ton of choices, and yes, we did get cheesecake. Red velvet cheesecake to be exact. I’m pretty sure that I gained 10 pounds just this weekend. It’s a good thing I have a few pairs of stretchy pants! 
Today is my 36th birthday. I can hardly believe I am in my 30s! It must be true what they say, time flies when you are having fun!
My husband gave me a pink golf club set for my big day today. I’m looking forward to taking them out to the driving range and learning how to play. It’s a sport that he enjoys, so it will be fun to finally be able to enjoy it together. Plus, we have free golfing for life at one of the prettiest golf courses in the state too! Time to take full advantage of that perk!
Off now to enjoy my day. Hoping to cross off at least one of my 101 items today.
