Do you have an iPhone? I have a confession, I’m a major app junkie! Seriously, I use my phone more for playing games and tracking calories and my miles walked than I ever do actually using it for phone calls. So when I got the chance to check out a new app, and one that was about dogs, I was pretty excited!
Cube Dog just launched and is available for download on iPhones and the iPod Touch (with camera) for free. The application does have add on packs that expand what you can do, and these add-ons are available for a small fee. So, what is Cube Dog? Exactly what the name implies! It’s a virtual dog that is has a cube for a head!
You can customize the dog through using various choices in the app, such as ear shape, what kind of eyes you want, the look of the nose, the body, and of course, the color. If you don’t know how you want your dog to look, you can even shake your phone to let pieces randomly come together for you.
Once your dog is how you want it to be, you can then play around with your new pet. There are some built in actions, such as the dog making a phone call (here is my Cube Dog making a phone call on an iPhone).
There is also an option to take a photo, and you can change the background the dog is on to show what your camera sees (for example I put my dog on my husband’s shoulder, but he said I couldn’t post a photo with him in it!). As you can see from the photo, Cube Dog utilizes 3D graphics and animations to make a very cute app!
Here is a video if you want to see the app in action!
I had a lot of fun trying to capture the dog in funny moments during the animated actions. When the background is tapped, you can rotate your dog into different angles, which makes the actions look a lot different. It is a lot of fun to play around with!
To learn more about the app be sure to visit the Cube Dog Facebook page (and be sure to check out the contest they are running June 13-17).
