Summer has officially arrived. With it comes family fun, time spent outdoors with friends, and a desire to live life full tilt. Forgive me if I disappear from this blog now and then. Now go, have a lovely summer.

Cake Month!
I tend to think of June as Cake Month! Why? Because my husband and I both celebrate our birthdays this month. Many friends celebrate their birthdays this month too. There is also Father’s Day, and my parent’s wedding anniversary. Celebrations abound in June! So, from time to time this month I may share some cake inspirations from around the web, just to make your mouth water! First up, Pink Velvet Cake!

Best Cookies Ever!
I have been on a search for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe for some time now. Maybe it’s cooking in a higher altitude, but the regular chocolate chip cookie recipes never seemed to come out just right. They would be flat, or too hard, but never just soft and moist! Well my world was totally ROCKED when I found this recipe for Vanilla Pudding Chocolate Chip cookies!
For this batch I used 1 Cup of milk chocolate chips, and 1 Cup of white chocolate chips. The regular recipe calls for 2 Cups of semi-sweet (which is actually even more tasty in my opinion). The mix of chips was awesome as well though, and I can see this cookie recipe being a great base for trying all kinds of chips in them! Have you seen all the different kinds of chips in the baking isle recently? Wow!
What is your favorite cookie?
Just dandy!
These little guys have taken advantage of the fact that I haven’t been able to get out and weed for the past week. Luckily for them, I find them cute (in this form) and don’t really mind the pop of yellow they are adding to the flowerbeds. Of course I have to pull them out soon, but I have been reading about how dandelion greens are good in salads. I’ve always read about “dandelion wine“, and I’ve even seen people put dandelions in their salads.
Have you used dandelions in food before? What did you think of them?
