Are you ready for the next big toy craze? I can see the Fijit Friend becoming the “IT” toy for the Christmas season! After all, what little kid doesn’t love to hear a good joke from an animated friend?
We got a chance to play with one, and they really do move! When they are dancing they move everything, in fact, you should be careful where you have the Fijit Friend when you tell it “let’s dance” because ours almost danced itself right off the table! You can play your own music, or they will play and dance to their own. The outside of the Fijit Friend is squishy and fun to play with. It’s very interactive too, with over 30 word commands, and over 150 phrases. You can even have your friend tell you jokes, including knock knock jokes.
There are four different styles of friends, the one we got is called Willa. Each friend has their own name and “personality”, but they all like to dance and talk and tell jokes.
Fijit Friends are a toy that I would have been excited about as a little kid! And of course I thought this video of Willa and a Parrot was just too fun not to share (Baby the Maltese wasn’t amused with a Fijit Friend getting attention that was meant for her, but this parrot sure seems to like it)!
This past week hasn’t been the greatest. My dear husband has ulcers, and they aren’t just run of the mill ulcers, these are the kind that can kill you. In fact, 8 years ago, he almost died from them. So when he started having problems again, it made us both terribly nervous.
Mostly what this meant was staying home, doctor appointments, and not doing much. Things are improving, though not 100% yet. Since I was at home this past week I needed to find things to do to occupy my mind and entertain us both. I was reminded of a phrase my mom always said “make your own sunshine”.
This week there was a lot of making my own sunshine. Still making it actually.
The autumnal solstice has arrived, and fall is officially here. The weather, though cooler at night, it still quiet warm in the day time (in the 80s) and as such the garden is still growing.
An awesome patch of mushrooms popped up. I’m just sad that they aren’t edible, because we sure do have a lot of them!
There have been so many bees this year! It’s great to see it, maybe bees are recovering.
And of course, there have been a lot of spiders this year too. Spiders don’t bother me, as long as they stay outside where they live and don’t come into our house. Check out this funnel web!
Life is just one big fun experiment! Exploring nature, photography, cooking, DIY, science, technology, and anything else that catches our fancy. My lab partner and I share our laboratory with our adorable pets, and our ever growing flock of pink flamingos. Need to get in touch? Feel free to email me!
