Survey via Spabettie

By , October 23, 2010

When I saw this fun survey over on Spabettie, I knew that I had to play along. After all, who doesn’t love a little fun on a rainy, gloomy, Saturday?

Is there anybody you just wish would fall off the planet?
People who are mean and nasty to animals, children, or other people.

How do you flush the toilet in public?
I usually use my foot to flush.

Do you wear your seatbelt in the car?
Always! And I hope that you do too.

Do you have a crush on someone?
Oh yes! My husband. And Captain Jack Sparrow.

Name one thing you worry about running out of.
Time. There is just so much that I want to do before I die.

What famous person do you (or other people) think you resemble?
I’ve been told that I remind people of  Lauren Graham.

What is your favorite pizza topping?
Cheese, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms.

Do you crack your knuckles?
Very, very, rarely.

What song do you hate the most.
I don’t have one song, but I really hate country music. Sorry to those who like it, but I just can’t stand it.

Did just mentioning that song make it get stuck in your head?
No, thank goodness.

What are your super powers?
Well, my hubby says that I have super freezing powers and that I could kill people with my cold fingers.

Peppermint or spearmint?
Both!

Where are your car keys?
In a bowl in the kitchen. A bowl that I made.

Whose answers to this questionnaire do you want to hear?
It would be fun to see anyone’s answers. I love learning about people.

What’s your most annoying habit?
I don’t know, maybe my husband would be a better one to answer that. LOL.

Where did you last go on vacation?
Las Vegas for my big 35! Highlight was visiting the dolphins and watching them play:

What is your best physical feature?
My eyes.

What 3 things can always be found in your refrigerator?
Eggs, butter, Mountain Dew (not mine, my hubby’s).

Would you rather be a fish or a bird?
A bird for sure! It would be so much fun to fly, and birds are quiet smart. Plus, then I could understand everything that our bird says.

Do you talk on your cell phone when you drive?
No.

What are your favorite sayings?
Oh goodness, I have so many! Here is one that I love.

What is your favorite Harrison Ford movie?
Indiana Jones.

What do you do when no one is watching?
Anything I want! ;) Usually hula hooping.

Would you rather die in a blaze of glory or peacefully in your sleep?
Depends on the blaze of glory. Generally I lean towards going peacefully.

Coffee or Tea
Hot chocolate.

Favorite musician(s)/bands you’ve seen in concert?
Again, so many choices! They Might Be Giants, B-52s, Sarah McLaughlin. All awesome concerts and favorites. I also really love the “Rat Pack”.

Have you ever been in love?
Been and am currently!

Do you talk to yourself?
Of course, who doesn’t? I just try not to do it out loud.

9 Days to Halloween!

By , October 22, 2010

It’s getting closer! And I really hope that I will be able to fit into my costume. My husband and I are dressing as Princess Peach and Mario if all goes well. Yes, we are totally cheesy like that, but hey, we love that game!

Martha Stewart completely rocks my Halloween world. She has always had some of the greatest ideas for the holiday, and I just love how much she loves Halloween. I recently got an email with pumpkin carving ideas in it, and this image is just one of the examples.

We didn’t get a huge pumpkin crop this year like we did last year. In fact, this year we got two adorable little pumpkins, and one massive pumpkin. Our massive pumpkin is no world record setter, but I am worried about how heavy it is going to be! Can’t wait to put it on the scale and find out.

Do you carve pumpkins in your house? What do you do with all the “guts”? Do you roast pumpkin seeds?

If you are dressing up this year, what do you plan to dress up as?

The death and birth of a blog.

By , October 21, 2010

As you may (or may not) already know, my previous blog had been having server issues of epic proportions! Despite everything that my tech genius of a hubby did, we still continued to get suspended, and things just kept on happening. We have some suspicions on what was going wrong, and even wonder if we got hacked. Our host kept saying that we would need a dedicated server, and well, we just can’t afford to do that. Especially if it wouldn’t actually solve the problem.

My husband doesn’t give up though, once he gets a problem to solve, he keeps on working the problem. So there may still be hope for my old blog yet. Sadly, as of right now it has gone to the digital graveyard.

But, there is always an upside. This blog that you are reading right now kind of has me excited. In fact, I am a little miffed that self hosted WordPress doesn’t have nearly the same amount of features as this one. Cool features aside, it’s fun to think of starting a new blog with a focus on healthy living and food. Ever since stumbling across some awesome food/heatlh blogs recently, I found my posts leaning more and more that way. Of course, as the title of this blog suggests, it’s about a happy, healthy, life. So of course, LIFE, and all that goes with it would still be a part of the blog, just like on my old one. But there would be a lot more food and such.

Of course, my husband could work his magic and bring my old blog back to life too… but for now you will find me here. And on my Tumblr. Happy to see some of you have found me here already. :)

A festival of witches!

By , October 20, 2010

As one who LOVES Halloween, I was really excited to be able to go to the witches festival today with my in-laws. It was super fun, and the weather outside was absolutely summer like. In fact, I have decided to call this month Octugust instead of October because it feels much more like August.

In addition to some seriously fun decorations, there was tons of fun shopping. I tried to hold back and stick to our debt busting plan, so I only bought one cute little BOO (wood, covered in purple glitter), and some unique candy for my husband. We ate lunch at the bakery, which was not the tastiest lunch in the world, but it was filling. I even splurged on a pumpkin shaped sugar cookie that I thought was going to be so yummy! Sadly it wasn’t nearly as yummy as I had hoped. Oh well, I can always bake my own instead!! :)

It was nice to be able to get away from the usual routine for a bit. And celebrating a little Halloween early is always a good thing. It was also a great excuse to wear a witches hat too!
