Confession #43

By Aimee, July 26, 2010 1:33 pm

Lately, none of my socks have matched.

It’s summer, so the only time I wear socks is when I work out.

It’s also hot, which means the upstairs portion of our house is usually in the 80 degree (F) range even with the air conditioner running (while other portions of the house are actually cold). What does that have to do with socks? Nothing really, except that I don’t spend any more time than absolutely necessary in our master bedroom… which leads to the clean laundry not getting sorted and put away. Which in turn leads to impossible feats of sock matching, of which I usually just pull out the first two socks and go with it.

Today’s pair? Solid blue and white with the pink stripe. Maybe I am starting a new trend in workout wear?

Oh onion!

By Aimee, July 23, 2010 12:38 am

A while back, many moons ago, I got an onion saver (like this one). I was very excited about it, promptly washed it, and put half an onion inside. Well, I was cleaning out the refrigerator, and moved the ever present boxes of Mountain Dew, only to discover my onion saver. The one that had been there for months!

Oh dear. I could only imagine what was going to be waiting inside the long forgotten onion saver. In fact, I even got brave and pulled out my Flip to document the opening of the onion. I knew it would likely be gross, or at the very least, really weird, so why not make a video, right? I even had a dream about it, in which the onion had started to grow and was sending out roots and shoots from within the onion saver.

Well…

It wouldn’t even open! Something happened in there, and the whole thing was sealed shut. I probably could have tried harder to open it up. It’s possible with some “encouragement” it would have opened. But really, I was scared to see what was in there. It promptly went into the trash, and someday I will get a new one. And hopefully not lose it in the fridge.

Confession #42

By Aimee, March 5, 2010 8:15 am

I have a lazy bone in my body.

Recently it has been taking over, making it near impossible to get much done. Although I have been forcing myself to do certain things, the lazy in me wants to do absolutely nothing at all. And I have so much that I need to be doing, and it’s come to the point where I am not even sure where to begin.

The valley

So I let the lazy bone take over. I avoid all the things I should be doing, and indulge in the things that sound good at the moment. It’s all good… food still gets cooked, we still have clean clothes and dishes. Every so often I just have to indulge my laziness (oh alright, I indulge it more than I really should, but it feels so right).
