When I was young I wanted to be a bunny. I think I have shared this confession with you before. I even tried to get everyone to call me Bunny (it never stuck). One year for Halloween I had the cutest bunny costume, complete with a huge stuffed carrot.
I also always wanted a pet bunny. Sadly, I am allergic to them, just as I am allergic to all animals with fur. Thank goodness there are dogs in the world with hair (such as Baby). But then I see a video like this one, and it makes me wish for a bunny all over again. Isn’t this the cutest?
I guess I can just be like the main character in one of my favorite movies and have an invisible bunny friend named Harvey. In the meantime I’m thinking of breaking out the bunny ears for Halloween this year.
I am missing certain “girl genes”. Here are the ones that seem to have skipped past me:
The Cute Hairstyle Gene: I do my hair, keep it clean and such, but that’s about it. Beyond wearing it down, a simple pony tail, or braids, I can’t do much. I admire women who can create cute hairstyles on themselves. It’s not all bad though, it does save money and time not having to use products, appliances, and the like.
The Shoe Gene: While I do love a good, comfortable, and fun pair of shoes, I seem to be missing the thing that drives women to collect them. I probably have less shoes than any other woman I know, and I hardly wear the ones I do own. I tend to find one or two favorites and live in them until they die. If it were reasonable, I would just go barefoot all the time.
The Laying Out Gene: Many times I have tried to “lay out” and get a tan. Every time I become so insanely bored with it, not to mention how hot it gets, that I usually only last 5 minuets. The rare times when I do have color on my pale skin comes from gardening, working out, or otherwise playing in the sun. Just laying there is not my cup of tea (unless it’s right after getting out of the pool, in which case laying in the sun to get warm and dry is totally my thing).
The Marathon Shopping Gene: I had a very good male friend who could out shop me any day. Seriously, when I was done and ready to go home he was just getting started. I have a very good female friend who is the same way. Me? I like to browse a little bit, but mainly I know what I am looking for and am in and out of the shop pretty fast. It really baffles my imagination how people can shop for hours on end. They seem to enjoy it, but I sure don’t!
One of the reasons that I haven’t yet is because I really want to set it up in a place where I know that I will use it often… and in a place that I won’t have to put everything away all the time. There is such a place in our house, but it requires a lot of moving stuff around and rearranging things.
So really, this confession should be that I am a tad lazy.
Alright, I don’t actually know if this is number 38 or not thanks to the Great Archive Tragedy of 2009! But, confessions are back in action regardless.
Confession: I am terrible at remembering to shave. It’s not that I want to be hairy, it just doesn’t seem to make it to the forefront of my consciousness when I am in a position to do something about it. Perhaps I should just give in and become a “crunchy granola”?
I like video games. My hubby counts himself to be a lucky guy because he has a wife who actually enjoys playing. Because of this I really want to get the new Nintendo Wii. Have you seen it? It has a very cool, interactive controller. Plus, it will play all our old games too. It’s on the wishlist.
Living happily ever after with my handsome hubby, our adorable pets, and our ever growing flock of pink flamingos. Trying to squeeze every juicy bit of nectar from this beautiful life.
