We finally have our living room back, which means that I have my hooping space once again!
It was hard not to be able to really hoop during the two weeks when we were in the thick of kitchen renovation (we still aren’t truly done). I have been enjoying every morning, being able to crank up great tunes and just play in the hula hoop again! And, I seem to be getting better at the trick I am working on, “pulse”.
Though I still can’t get it to stay up near my armpits for very long, I am having an easier time getting it there in the first place. Who knew learning this trick would prove so tricky? I like to think of it as a good reminder that everyone is good at different things. Tricks that were easy for me might be hard for someone else. Just like in other areas in life, we don’t all excel at the same things. And that is what makes life interesting.
We are knee deep in kitchen renovation, and that means that our kitchen is now in our living room. My hooping space is filled to the brim with appliances, cabinet drawers, and all manner of craziness.
The weather outside doesn’t help either, and sadly it has been a week since I have been able to hoop. I miss it! I miss it a lot.
I was hoping that based on the gorgeous sunshine of yesterday, that the weather might have been warming enough to go outside again. This morning I woke to snow falling on the ground.
Not only can I not wait for our new kitchen counter tops, but I am so looking forward to hooping again.
It’s getting better, I am able to more easily get it up past the girls. Sadly, it still won’t stay there long enough to do one full revolution.
I’m trying to remember that different things are hard for different people, and other things are easy. We each have our own way of learning. The key is to keep trying. And I am going to keep trying!
The hoop is getting closer to the goal. In fact, I have achieved getting it up to my armpits smoothly twice now. It didn’t stay there long at all, and I can’t seem to do it every time I try, but it did happen.
And this has nothing at all to do with hula hoops, but I am so glad that the ASPCA and Virgin Airlines helped these adorable dogs. Animals are a passion of mine, and I hope for the day when all homeless pets find forever homes.
Off to practice some more, I am finding that carving out enough time has become a bit tricky lately. How do you best find time in your day to hoop?
