Eleven Questions

By , May 5, 2012

Erin of A Girl and Her Mutt tagged me for the 11 Questions meme, and who am I to deny a request from such a lovely person? Besides, these things are always pretty fun. It turns out that I have had a hard time coming up with questions to ask, so I am just going to answer, and if you feel like playing along please do (yes, I am breaking the rules).

11 Random Facts:

  1. I’ve been belly dancing for almost 20 years now, but I haven’t performed in a very long time.
  2. I got a Nintendo when they first came out (from Santa). The boys in the neighborhood suddenly thought I was the coolest chick on the planet.
  3. I still LOVE Nintendo games.
  4. Sand volleyball is one of my favorite sports to play.
  5. I have had a lot of “unusual” pets; hedgehog, ferret, rats, and frogs.
  6. I taught myself to play the guitar. This doesn’t mean I am good at it.
  7. Hula hooping is one of my current favorite ways to bust a move.
  8. I thought I was allergic to chocolate until my early 20′s.
  9. My wisdom teeth were taken out when I was 12, I only had 3.
  10. I just got a ukelele!
  11. I LOVE going to aerobics classes and am currently saving up for a gym membership so I can go to classes again.

Erin’s Questions:

  1. What is one food you could eat over and over and over? Cereal. Seriously, I love the stuff. I could also eat pizza all the time.
  2. If you could change your name to be anything you could imagine, what would it be? Princess Consuela Banana Hammock. ;)
  3. What would a tv show about your life be called and who would play you? I have no idea. It would probably be a lot like Gilmore Girls (my mom is by far my best friend), and Sienfield (a show about nothing). As for who would play me? Maybe I could play myself!
  4. Trains, planes, or automobiles? I like them all, but by far automobiles are my favorite. I love going to car shows.
  5. If you could switch jobs with no problem and no worries about money, what would you do? I don’t have a traditional job right now, so you could say that I already have a dream job. However, if I could get any job in the world without any trouble I would want to work with dolphins.
  6. City or Country? In between. I don’t think I would enjoy being too cut off, but I wouldn’t like living in a big city either.
  7. If you could only buy clothes from one store for the rest of your life, where would it be? Old Navy. Pretty much already do only buy stuff from there. LOL.
  8. How many years is your longest/oldest friendship? My friend Becky, we have been friends for 33 years now, despite living in different cities and states most of the time.
  9. Dream vacation spot? Hawaii and Australia.
  10. Driver or passenger? Always driver.
  11. What is the language you would learn first if you could wake up knowing it without any studying at all? Oh this is hard, there are so many I want to know. Chinese, because it is likely the hardest to learn of the languages on my list.

It would be fun if you wanted to play along!

Even though I am still working on my 101 list, when I saw this idea on Dani’s blog I just had to join the fun. You see, she and I met during ALT at our “dinner with” and I am so glad we did because otherwise I never would have known of her gorgeous blog. Anyway, the idea is simple, make a list of 12 things you want to accomplish before 2012, and hopefully cross them all off!

I had already been thinking about goals for the fall/winter, so this really came at the perfect time. Here is my list:

  1. Really learn to crochet, from a pattern. I know how to do things, but not the right way. I want to do it the right way so I can make awesome things.
  2. Overnight in the city and visit all the Christmas sights. This seems to be becoming an annual thing for us, so I want to make an effort to make it an annual thing!
  3. Put up outdoor Christmas lights. I missed out last year because of the weather.
  4. Get the husband’s office all awesome and organized.
  5. Remove all the grass from the flowerbeds. Hopefully before the frost and snow comes again.
  6. Make our Christmas cards.
  7. Start to learn the piano again.
  8. Go through books and donate to the local library.
  9. Try one new restaurant each month (3 total).
  10. Bake a totally new to us holiday treat.
  11. Make my daily 2 mile walk a priority. This gets very hard in the winter as the dreadmill is so much more boring than going outside in nature.
  12. Have more actual, in person, interaction with my friends!

Five Fabulous Bloggers!

By , May 19, 2011

Thanks to Trop50 for sponsoring my writing about fabulous bloggers. This year Trop50 is granting 50 Fabulous Wishes. Click here to enter for a chance to win $1,000 to celebrate a friend with a refreshing attitude about looking and feeling fabulous!

Blogging (from the computer's perspective).

It’s hard for me to imagine that I started my very first blog back in 2004! Time sure does fly!

Throughout that time I have been lucky enough to become friends with many wonderful bloggers from all around the world. Each blog (and the person who writes it) is totally unique and special, and especially those who have become friends.

I wish that I could highlight each and every one of you in this post (if you aren’t listed, please don’t feel badly)! Since this post is about Five Fabulous Bloggers, I had to narrow it down. A lot.

Operation Nice
! Why does Melissa of Operation Nice simply rock? Her blog is all about spreading happiness in the form of people being nice to each other. Need a little uplift and reassurance that people are still nice in the world? Be sure to visit her blog! Have a nice story to share, be sure to send it her way and help spread the message of kindness.

Cute Overload
. Now really, if you have been reading here for long at all (like even a second), you know that I love animals. Especially the cute ones, and let’s be honest, they are almost all cute. So of course I think that Meg and her team are absolutely fabulous.

DIYdiva! A woman who wears power tools the way others wear high heels?! Heck yeah! Not only is she rocking the DIY attitude to the utmost, but she is building an entire freaking house! Oh, and did I mention that she has adorable mini-donkeys too? If that doesn’t make her fabulous I don’t know what will!

How About Orange. If you aren’t reading this blog, you are missing out. Even if you aren’t a fan of the color orange, Jessica always shares wonderful design ideas, fun freebies, and she’s also a fabric designer! If you are in need of a fun design fix, her blog never disappoints.

And last but not least, bakerella! Queen of Cake Pops, this blog will make your mouth water. Not only do I always find something simply adorable on this blog, but the ideas and attention to detail area just astounding. Whenever I need something really special to make, this is my go to blog for ideas.

Who are some of your favorite, fabulous bloggers? You can say yourself of course (since you are fabulous too!).

Don’t forget to enter the 50 Fabulous Wishes contest for a chance to win $1,000 to celebrate a friend with a refreshing attitude about looking and feeling fabulous. I was selected for this Tropicana Trop50 sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do. I received compensation to use and facilitate my post.
