I feel like there has been a lot going on, of course most of it has to do with Baby and her recovery from surgery. Maybe you are getting a bit tired of seeing her sweet, furry, face? So, here is a fun list of things happening recently.

  • My “Message Bean” is growing! The message on the bean? I <3 You! (photo)
  • I enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends, at a new to me place called Gloria’s Little Italy. Or rather, I enjoyed some delicious vanilla gelato! The owners are from Italy, so everything is very authentic. Girl time is always good too!
  • Been busy trying to figure out what to pack for the Altitude Summit. Can’t believe it’s happening this week! I am trying to make sure I don’t leave anything out. Especially chargers for things like the lap top and camera. Would hate to lose battery power on those things!
  • It’s finally above freezing here! Oh happy day.
  • We got a Kinect for Christmas. It’s a lot of fun. We play the Kinect Adventures game and are always shocked to find how out of shape we are. And we work out too! I guess we just don’t do a lot of jumping in our daily lives.
  • I meant to mention this before, but we saw Tron Legacy in 3D! Wow! Daft Punk is a favorite of ours anyway, but they did such an amazing job on the movie soundtrack. I can’t imagine anyone else doing it. I’m curious if they were the ones in the DJ booth during the club scene. I hope they were.

It’s a 3 day weekend, which is great. My hubby is home, we have been watching some movies and enjoying the time off. It’s always so nice to know that we don’t have to do anything major to enjoy time off together. I hope you have a great weekend too!

North Pole Village 2

I have been a bit stumped for gift ideas this year and thought maybe you are too! So, here is a little list straight from Santa’s Village that might help you. On the list are things that we have given and received in the past that were big hits.

  • Mix CDs. A tradition of mine for a few years now has been to give my friends a Christmas music mix. They are fun to get, and fun to give.
  • A Digital Photo Frame. This is one gift that gives enjoyment all year long. We adore ours because it’s so nice to actually see our photos instead of having them hidden away in scrapbooks that never get opened.
  • Video Games. We love getting them, and if you have a gamer in your life, they would surely love receiving them. Our current favorite for the PS3 is MotorStorm Pacific Rift. On the Wii we are loving both versions of Just Dance, and of course, if your recipient grew up with Nintendo, New Super Mario Bros.
    is a must!
  • Baked goods. Who doesn’t love getting a tasty treat? I also love to include a cute recipe card and cookie cutter to make it really fun. Every year we make peppermint bark, and also from our Swiss heritage, Bratsli. You could pick something that is from your heritage to share with your friends.
  • Lotion. I love to give and get yummy smelling lotions (especially from Bath and Body Works). Some scents are only available online, or during the holidays, so it’s a good time to get a favorite smell.
  • Gift Cards. Especially gift cards for experiences. Let’s be honest, most of us have enough stuff, but what we all really want are fun new memories! Gift cards to favorite restaurants, local attractions, a night away in a favorite hotel or bed and breakfast, or to a favorite shop so they can pick what they need. The key is to wrap them in a super fun way!
  • Money. I know it’s supposed to be considered thoughtless to just give money, but honestly, especially now when times are tight for so many, it might just be the most thoughtful gift of all.
  • Something meaningful. Some of my favorite gifts from friends have been homemade, or specially made items, that remind me of times we spent together.

What have been some of your favorite gifts to give/get?
