Furniture Flux

By Aimee, July 11, 2009 9:16 am

We are currently in what I am lovingly referring to as “furniture flux”. Why? Because we got an amazing deal on some couches that we had been looking at for years (seriously, we found them a couple of years ago but held off due to the $1700 price tag for each sofa). We also found a bedroom set for an amazing deal that matched our bed just right. So, this week, while fun and exciting, has also brought with it some furniture fun. Behold:

I am taking the photo from our dining room area, which used to have a banister. Here is a photo:

Yes, that’a right. We had to remove the banister in order to get the new sofas into the family room. They were far too big to go down the stair well. Who knows if we will be able to put the banister back together again! Which is a shame, because although the color of the wood is not our cup of tea, they are very nice banisters. It could lead to replacement though (and because there is already a part of the carpet missing, I am saying that we are part way to a new wood floor). Oh, and this is what our living room looks like right now because obviously, the dining set had to go someplace new as well.

Also, some of the family room things are in there now too. We have to get it all sorted out by tomorrow night for the third installment of our Harry Potter marathon with our family. Yes friends, we like to do things on a deadline. Here is what the sofa looks like:

It’s leather, and it has a motorized recliner on both sides!! Sqweeee! Oh, and we got both of them for less than it would have cost us to get just one before. Sometimes paitence really does pay off. One little thing though, have you ever noticed that when you upgrade things in your house, it makes you want to upgrade everything else too? This is especially true in our bedroom, where our bedset needed replacement anyway due to a very cute, but nibbly Yoshi (who we still miss so much). So, no photos of the new set until I find a proper bedset replacement for photos!

Wish us luck, at this posting we have a little over 24 hours to get the house put back together again.
