Dreamy Bedding

I am so in love with this bedding! It’s called Casablanca, and it comes from Gaiam. The color, and especially the pattern, both remind me of far away places. Dreamy places. It also really speaks to the bellydancer in me, with gorgeous details and intricate stitching (a lot like my costumes). It also is such a delicious color, not my usual color choice actually, but I am really digging it for some reason.

Another thing that I really like about it is that it is 100% organic cotton. It’s also machine washable (a big must in my book). Oh, and did I mention that it is so pretty? At least, I think it’s really pretty.

I can totally imagine this in our room, except that there is a big price tag attached to it. Yet again, to get organic, high quality cotton, it will cost an arm and a leg. And, it’s just the duvet cover, not a comforter (not a problem as long as you have something to put in it of course).

It’s almost time to put a heavier comforter inside our duvet cover. The nights are getting colder and colder, though we are still enjoying lovely days. Snow is sure to be coming though, and I think it would be a lot of fun to put a heavier comforter inside this dreamy bedding. Now, where did I put all that “spare change”!?

A skull wreath!

By Aimee, October 9, 2009 12:36 am

Even though I am not a big fan of skulls (I like my Halloween a bit more cute and friendly), I did find a skull wreath to make over on the HGTV website that is very cool. I wish that I had thought about making a Halloween wreath earlier because Halloween stuff has been replaced by Christmas things at the craft store already. Luckily I do have a Halloween wreath already, which you will see in the future.

Also, this skull wreath is pretty neat. It’s cut from cardboard and comes from Cardboard Safari.

What about your house? Do you have a Halloween wreath? Do you enjoy skulls?

Walking through a spiderweb…

As promised, my Arachnophobia rug from FLOR! I love how the modular tiles make it really easy to put a rug together wherever you need to. I used the majority of the tiles in my kitchen, as seen in the photo, but I also used a few to create a smaller rug in our entry as well. What do you think of the end result?

Tangled web

The rug was designed by Martha Stewart, who always has fun Halloween ideas. I recently saw her Halloween magazine and loved the idea of a “forest” made from gourds and pumpkins (on the cover). Also, if you look on her website she has a ton of fun ideas.

Yes friends, our house is getting more and more in the Halloween mood! Oh, and FLOR ships really quickly, so there is still time to get your own spooky rug before Halloween if you are as crazy about the holiday as I am!! However, today I realized that I have more Halloween decor than home to decor! LOL!
